Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, three active underground mines, two active open pits, with new mines started in 2025 and planned to start in 2026 as part of the companies 5-year plan and a vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead our electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities across our Southern Cross operations. This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth. This will be a permanent role on 8 days on 6days off roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO option available.
About the Role
As the Electrical Superintendent, you’ll provide leadership, direction, and technical expertise to ensure our electrical systems and process plant run safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll manage a skilled team of supervisors, electricians, and contractors, oversee compliance with WA mining and WHS legislation, and drive strategic initiatives that optimise performance and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the electrical maintenance team, fostering a positive and proactive safety culture.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of HV/LV electrical systems, substations, and distribution networks.
- Manage compliance with WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act/Regulations and statutory electrical obligations.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to enhance asset performance and reliability.
- Manage electrical budgets, contractors, and resource planning.
- Support continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and reliability initiatives across the site.
About You
You’re a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise and a commitment to safety and team development. You’ll bring:
- WA “A” Grade Electrical Licence and HV Switching certification.
- 8–10+ years’ experience in electrical maintenance and engineering (mining or heavy industry).
- Proven supervisory or superintendent experience in a mining environment.
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, PLC/SCADA, and instrumentation.
- Demonstrated success in compliance, budgeting, and contractor management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desirable:
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor training.
- SAP or CMMS experience.
- Experience with gold processing plants.
