BARTO GOLD MINING
Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 in Western Australia. Located in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of WA, Southern Cross Operations is the flagship operation for the company and holds a tenement package of approximately 1,400km2 with significant exploration potential. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, two active underground mines, two active open pits and an exciting life of mine plan. This will be a full time role on an 8/6 roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO to Marvel Loch option available.
About the role:
Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Advisor plays a valuable role in supporting the sites operations with respect to all environmental, sustainability and compliance matters at the Southern Cross Operations. The role includes:
- Provide advice and support to site operations with regards to legislative and statutory requirements
- Support site operations by assisting in preparing and obtaining various environmental approvals
- Promote the proactive reporting of environmental hazards, assist with incident investigations, and follow up corrective actions with site management
- Participate in community events and liaise with community members and stakeholders where required
- Carry out workplace inspections and drive environmental compliance through environmental awareness and training
- Carry out statutory monitoring and management of the monitoring database
- Assist in the planning and execution of rehabilitation
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent
- Minimum 1 (one) year experience in an environmental role within the mining industry onsite
- Knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, standards, and codes of practice
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
- A sound understanding of environmental risks and impacts associated with mining and mineral processing operations.
- Self-motivated, well organised, and able to manage personal workloads to achieve agreed outcomes
- Ability to work under pressure
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
