We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Practitioner to join our site-based team. This permanent role supports all operational areas, surface and underground mining, processing, maintenance, exploration, stores and logistics. The ideal candidate will be technically capable, highly visible in the field and passionate about delivering strong safety outcomes across the site.
This position is an 8/6 roster.
About the Role
Reporting to the Alternate Health and Safety Manager, you will:
- Provide hands-on health and safety support across all operational areas.
- Lead and contribute to high-quality incident investigations, including ICAM investigations.
- Prepare, manage and submit monthly Work Health and Safety Performance Reports, including reports to regulatory authorities.
- Lead site inspections and audits as part of the site management programs.
- Develop and implement safety systems, processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance with the WHS Act 2020, WHS (Mining) Regulations 2022 and relevant guidelines and best practices.
- Engage with personnel at all levels to promote a positive safety culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
Essential
- Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (or higher).
- ICAM Lead Investigator qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated experience in health and safety roles within mining or heavy industry, ideally covering surface mining, underground mining, and gold processing plants.
- Current WA Driver’s Licence.
- Applied knowledge of the WA WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mining) Regulations 2022.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate report writing.
- Ability to work across multiple operational areas and engage effectively with diverse teams.
Desirable
- Senior First Aid (or higher).
- Auditing qualification and proven competence in site auditing processes.
- Proficiency with INX and other Safety Management Systems.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite).
