Barto Gold Mining is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, one active underground mine, two active open pits, with new mines started in 2024 as part of the companies 5-year plan and a vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028. The role is BIBO from Perth and is a lifestyle-friendly 8:6 roster. This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth.
The Maintenance Planner reports to the Maintenance Manage and is responsible for all aspects of planning withing the processing department. This includes weekly fixed plant, Light vehicle and operations planning/scheduling.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Follow all reasonable instructions.
- Using SAP Fiori, produce accurate and fully resourced plan’s/schedules to enable efficient and safe completion of works by the maintenance teams.
- Liaise with maintenance supervisors, tradespersons, and other department stakeholders and ensure all details and requirements are captured to enable accuracy of planned work orders.
- Schedule and print weekly work orders for fixed plant, Light vehicle and operations departments.
- Liaise with department managers to maintain 12 month fixed plant shut down calendar, plan and fully resource shutdowns at agreed intervals and assemble shutdown work packs accordingly.
- Chair weekly and shutdown planning meetings
- Maintain constant improvement of SAP Fiori master data.
- Utilise Excel planning tools to aid planning efficiency.
- Maintain shared planning Microsoft outlook inbox to ensure all communications are considered, actioned and filed.
- As one of the Registered plant nominees, maintain inspections, records and action repairs for all registered, non-registered (Duty of care) and itinerant plant in the processing area.

- Reduced frequency of injuries or incidents within area of responsibility.
- Pro-active role in safety and toolbox meetings
Experience & Other Requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the mining industry
- Minimum 2 years as a Maintenance Planner in a fixed plant, preferably gold process plant environment.
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Word/Excel, Project and SAP GUI or Fiori required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all Work Management tasks.
- Flexibility to adapt to improved Asset Management procedures and practices.
- Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
- Experience working on gold processing plants - desirable
- Trade qualification - desirable
- Australian drivers license
