Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, one active underground mine, two active open pits, with new mines started in 2024 as part of the companies 5-year plan and a vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028.

 

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, this role is responsible for providing regular surveys of the mining area to support mine planning and production activity. This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth. This will be a permanent role on 8 days on 6 days off roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO option available.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure all survey duties are carried out to conform with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
  • Provide timely daily underground mine surveying requirements including regular drive pickup, laser installation for new the heading and CMS / Lidar scans of the voids.
  • Establishment of primary and secondary controls for underground.
  • Ensure underground tunnels are mined to design and maintain accurate records on monthly basis including End of Month (EOM) reporting. 
  • Prepare survey plan including survey memo, EOM reports and Emergency Plans.
  • Engage in project work to optimise mining efficiencies and the provision of general surveying services to the site as required
  • Keep the digital model up to date with current working.
  • Maintaining survey equipment including cleaning and periodic calibration.

 

Essential qualifications include:

  • Tertiary or Technical Qualification in Surveying or Spatial Information.
  • Solid underground experience highly regarded
  • Experience in mine surveying applications such as Deswik software and Leica survey instruments.
  • A Western Australian manual driver’s license
  • A proactive attitude, collaborative approach and commitment to safety
