BARTO GOLD MINING

Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, three active underground mines, two active open pits, with new mines started in 2025 and planned to start in 2026 as part of the companies 5-year plan and a vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028

This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth. This will be a permanent role on an 8 days on 6 days off roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO option available.

 

About the role:
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the successful candidate will

  • Support the Mining Manager in developing and executing planning and budgeting processes
  • Provide input as required with senior leadership team to ensure a strategic LOM plan is created and executed
  • Develop mining budget
  • Evaluate resource / reserves for the operational teams
  • Communicate areas of risk and monitor preventative actions against such risks closely
  • Ensure any corrective plans and actions are implemented to prevent the occurrence of identified adverse trend
  • Ensure contingency plans are initiated where risks are identified as having a high probability of negative effect on the operation
  • Continuously scrutinize the internal and external environment for opportunities to improve operational performance, or reduce operational risk
  • Communicate proposals clearly and implement them effectively
  • Provide assistance to the mining team if required
  • Work closely with environmental department to ensure mining approvals are obtained in a timely manner as required

About you:

  • 10+ years Mining Engineering experience
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Extensive experience in underground planning and scheduling
  • Experience in different mining methods
  • Practical financial skills and exposure to budgets and cost reporting
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements affecting the employment and safety of persons working on site
  • Contractor management experience
  • Proficiency in Deswik mine planning software.
  • Desirable to have 1st Class Mine Managers Certificate
