Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, 3 active underground mine, 1 active open pits, with new mines started in 2025 as part of the companies 5-year plan and a vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028.
Due to this exciting growth, we are actively seeking to recruit a Supply Officer to join our Southern Cross operation. This position will be 8:6 day shift, BIBO from Perth; however, other travel options are available for professionals not residing in Perth.
About the role:
The Warehouse Officer will join a small, dynamic, and culturally diverse team that works collaboratively to support site operations. Reporting to the Supply Superintendent and Supply Supervisor, this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehousing and supply operations at Barto Gold’s Southern Cross site.
The position focuses on providing practical warehousing support across goods receipt, storage, issue, and dispatch activities, while also assisting the purchasing function as required. Key responsibilities include managing goods inwards and outwards, maintaining accurate inventory records within the ERP system, coordinating freight movements, and supporting safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring materials and consumables are available to meet operational requirements while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and organisation.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in mining warehousing or supply operations. The role is suited to individuals who are confident operating in dynamic site-based environments, can apply their knowledge and experience to day-to-day activities, and take ownership of operational outcomes. A strong work ethic, accountability, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-focused approach are essential.
Skills, Qualifications & Personal Attributes
Essential
- Experience working in a mining warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to task completion
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to safe systems of work and site safety standards
- Ability to complete administrative tasks accurately and diligently
- Current right to work and reside in Australia
- Current Western Australia Driver’s Licence
- Current Forklift Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and police clearance
Desirable
- Knowledge or experience managing Reagents/Grinding Media stock
- Experience using SAP S/4HANA Fiori
- Experience in purchasing or procurement activities
- Certificate in Warehousing or Logistics Operations
- Familiarity with dangerous goods handling and storage
- Current Western Australia HR licence
- Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Issuing and expediting orders as required
- Assisting with purchasing activities, including seeking quotations and processing purchase requisitions when needed
- Managing goods inwards, including unloading, inspection, and receipting into the ERP system
- Coordinating outgoing freight, including hot-shot deliveries and freight pickups
- Organising and maintaining accurate stock records and bin locations
- Conducting stocktakes, stock validations, and investigating discrepancies
- Assisting with inventory management, cataloguing, and material master maintenance
- Loading and unloading trucks safely
- General warehouse housekeeping to maintain a clean, organised, and compliant work environment
- Re-stocking materials and supporting site departments as required
- Performing general warehousing and supply tasks to support operational needs
