Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, three active underground mines, two active open pit, with new mines started in 2024 and another planned to start in 2026 as part of the companies 5-year plan and vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028

This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth. This will be a permanent role on an 8 days on 6 days off roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO option available.

About the role
Reporting to the Manager Mining, you will

  • Oversee Mining Engineer to deliver drill & blast related designs, stope notes, development designs and so on.
  • Oversee Mining Engineer to deliver short term (weekly and 3-monthly) mining schedule.
  • Provide mining physicals schedule for quarterly forecast and budget. Assist in development and calibration of cost model.
  • Ensure short term production plans and schedules are integrated with medium and long term mine plans.
  • Driving continuous improvement by reviewing compliance to plan, stope reconciliation, resource model updates and so on.
  • Assist Underground Manager with compiling data for cost analyst
  • Liaise with the stakeholders on the implementation of plans and the critical path for targeted production.
  • Prepare level plans for the mine.
  • Assist in coordinating infrastructure projects when required.
  • Proficiency in Deswik mine planning software.


 About you

  • A degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in underground mining engineering.
  • Exposure to various roles such as drill and blast, ventilation (UG), scheduling, planning, and projects.
  • Prior experience in senior positions will be highly regarded.
  • A First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency or the ability to obtain one.
  • Australian manual (C-Class) driver's license.
  • The Right to work in Australia.
