Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, one active underground mine, two active open pits, with new mines started in 2024 as part of the companies 5-year plan and a vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028.

This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth. This will be a permanent role on 2 weeks on 2 weeks off roster, BIBO from Perth or DIDO option available.

About the role

An opportunity exists at Southern Cross Operations for a Shotfirer with a proactive attitude, strong work ethic and teamwork skills. Reporting to the Shift Boss, you will be responsible for:

• Charging development headings and production stopes.

• Safe and efficient handling, transport and storage of explosives and blasting agents
• Ensure compliance and implementation of site blasting and evacuation procedures
• Working collaboratively and efficiently within a team to ensure production targets are met in a timely manner
• Additional tasks as and when required by the Underground Shift Boss

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years experience in the mining industry as Charge up and flexible to complete tasks in other areas of the mine
• 2 years underground charge up experience
• Demonstrated awareness of the Work Health and Safety Act demonstrating a commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Dangerous Goods Security Card or willing to apply for one
• Working at Heights ticket
• Shotfirer's ticket
• Minimum "C" class unencumbered drivers licence.
