Field Technician (Fixed-Term 6 Month Contract)

Pajingo Mine Site | 8 Days On, 6 Days Off Roster

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Field Technician to join our Exploration team on a 6-month fixed-term contract at our Pajingo operations.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in exploration or mining who enjoys working in both field and core shed environments. You will support drilling and sampling programs, core processing activities, and exploration logistics while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of exploration targets.

About the Role

Reporting to the Field Services Supervisor, you will assist with a range of exploration activities including:

• Supporting drill programs and drill site logistics
• Sample preparation, dispatch and data entry
• Chip traying, drill rig sampling and spotter duties
• Core mark-up, photography, sampling and cutting
• Processing and handling diamond drill core
• Drill collar cutting and rehabilitation
• Maintaining exploration work areas, including core farm housekeeping
• Supporting environmental compliance and rehabilitation activities
• Participating in safety inspections, toolbox meetings and hazard reporting

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

• Current C Class Driver's Licence
• Previous experience in a mining or exploration environment
• Core handling experience including mark-up, orientation, RQD, photography, cutting and sampling
• Experience using GPS equipment
• Demonstrated vehicle operation, maintenance and recovery skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Well-developed organisational and time management skills

Desirable

• Regional or remote exploration experience
• Soil and rock chip sampling experience
• Forklift licence
• UTV ticket
• Advanced four-wheel-drive skills
• Advanced First Aid certification
• Chemical handling experience
• Chainsaw operation and maintenance experience
• Ability to camp in remote locations when required
