We’re seeking a driven and experienced Laboratory Technician to support analytical testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in our processing environment.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you’ll ensure safe, accurate, and efficient laboratory operations. You will work closely with internal teams across Processing, Geology, and Exploration, and maintain strong data integrity and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mineral sample collection, preparation, analysis, and reporting.

  • Operate laboratory equipment (AAS, crushers, pulverisers, splitters, sieve shakers).

  • Maintain lab records, reports, and data systems (LIMS).

  • Support internal technical training and participate in audits.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external laboratories.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

Essential:

  • Recognised laboratory or sampling qualification.

  • Experience in mineral processing labs (CIP/CIL gold experience preferred).

  • Proficient in sample prep and AAS analysis.

  • Experience with LIMS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.

  • Good knowledge of Queensland mining legislation.

  • High attention to detail and excellent time management.

 

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.

  • Supervisory qualifications (G1, 8, 9).

  • Experience with incident investigations (ICAM), risk assessments, and QLD Mine Safety Act.
