We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator Officer to join our Human Resources team, supporting payroll operations across the business.

This is a hands-on role responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining employee and payroll records, superannuation administration and reporting, while also providing broader HR and employee administration support.

The position works 5 days on, 2 days off / 4 days on, 3 days off roster, working 10-hour days, providing a regular three-day break every second week.

Working closely with the HR and Payroll teams, managers and employees, you will play an important role in ensuring our payroll processes run smoothly, and employees receive accurate and timely support.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Process monthly and fortnightly payrolls, including leave applications, salary adjustments and employee deductions
  • Enter and maintain new starter and employee information within payroll systems
  • Calculate and process employee terminations
  • Maintain payroll codes and employee payroll information within SAP SuccessFactors ECP
  • Process and maintain superannuation, salary sacrifice and other employee deductions
  • Maintain accurate payroll, superannuation and employee records
  • Prepare payroll information and reporting for Finance and HR
  • Assist with PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and year-end payroll requirements
  • Respond to and resolve employee payroll queries
  • Support Workers' Compensation administration, reporting and payments
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Prepare employment documentation and maintain employee records
  • Provide general HR administration and support across the business
  • Contribute to improvements and automation of payroll and HR processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Minimum 3 years' payroll processing experience within a medium-sized organisation
  • Experience processing payroll and superannuation payments
  • SAP Payroll experience
  • Previous experience within the resources industry
  • Working knowledge of payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong administration, organisation and time-management skills
  • The ability to prioritise competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The confidence to work with employees and managers across all levels of the business
  • A high level of discretion when handling confidential employee information
  • A current C Class Driver's Licence.

Highly regarded:

  • 5+ years' payroll experience
  • Experience processing payroll across Enterprise Agreements and common law arrangements
  • Previous payroll experience within a mining organisation.
