Process Plant Operator 

NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer operating locally in Northern QLD Since 2009. Southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and currently employs around 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, offering the charms of regional living with the added bonus of a Capital City close by.

About the role:
To support the Processing function, we are seeking an experienced, capable Process Technician / Lab Technician to join our busy team. The role contributes to optimised performance of fixed plant operations by safely operating plant components such as feeders, crushers, conveyors, mills, CIP tanks, pumps, slurry flows, sampling, reagents and other equipment and mobile plant in production activities to the standard of competency required to operate alone in full production conditions. This role will also work across the site Lab, assisting in daily sample prep work 

About you:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a gold processing plant and be able to independently and safely operate crushers, ore transfer conveyers, mills, cyclones, thickeners & CIP circuits as well of an understanding of water and tailings management. Your experience assisting with elution and gold room sections and the ability to operate Scada control systems will be highly regarded.

Essential Skills and experience will include current tickets and licences in:

  •  Bobcat, Wheel Loader
  •  Current manual drivers’ licence
  •  Confined spaces
  •  Working at heights 

 

You will be a self-motivated team player with a strong focus on delivery and safety awareness, with the ability to encourage, support and motivate other team members and be able to instil a thorough understanding of ‘sense of urgency’ requirements to your teammates.
