PAJINGO GOLD MINING

We are looking for a Project Exploration Geologist to join our Exploration team at the Pajingo Operation (NQM Gold 2). Reporting to the Senior Geologist, this role will play a key part in delivering site‑based exploration programs aligned to the company’s growth strategy while ensuring compliance with Queensland mining legislation and company standards.

This position offers excellent technical exposure, hands‑on field involvement, and the opportunity to work across a range of exploration activities within an established gold operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of site exploration strategies, plans, and budgets
• Manage and interpret geological, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling data with strong QA/QC practices
• Conduct and oversee field programs including geological mapping, drill‑hole logging, and sampling (soil, stream sediment, rock‑chip)
• Design and recommend follow‑up programs based on interpretation of results
• Assist with exploration scheduling, contractor management, and logistics (including drill programs)
• Maintain exploration tenure in good standing and ensure regulatory, statutory, and reporting compliance
• Prepare accurate and timely technical and monthly reports
• Proactively manage cultural heritage, environmental, landholder, and community considerations
• Demonstrate strong safety leadership and compliance with SH&E requirements

About You

You are a technically capable and motivated exploration geologist with a strong understanding of gold systems and a collaborative working style. You are comfortable working in a site‑based environment and engaging with a variety of stakeholders.

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in gold exploration
• Working knowledge of Queensland mining law, exploration standards, and regulatory compliance
• Strong understanding of gold mineralisation and structural controls
• Experience using GIS software (QGIS, MapInfo or similar) and 3D modelling software (Leapfrog)
• Well‑developed planning, analytical, and technical reporting skills
• Proficient in MS Office

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualification (gold mineralisation preferred)
• Understanding of JORC‑compliant exploration and resource guidelines
• Experience with geological modelling software and databases
• Mine geology or resource geology exposure
• Senior First Aid certification
