NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer. Our Pajingo Mine, located approximately 70 km south of Charters Towers and southwest of Townsville, employs around 250 people across underground mining and ore processing operations. Charters Towers offers the amenities of a large regional town, with the bonus of being close to Townsville and the natural beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.

About the Role
NQM GOLD 2 is seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to lead both underground and surface exploration and resource-definition activities across our North Queensland projects.
The role will be based at the Pajingo Gold Mine, supporting ongoing resource growth; however, NQM GOLD 2 may also support exploration programs across other exploration licenses in the region.
This is a leadership-level technical role suited to a geologist who enjoys ownership of drilling programs, hands-on geology and contributing to regional exploration success.

What You’ll Do
• Lead and manage drilling programs from design through daily execution
• Produce high-quality geological interpretations, wireframes and drill targets
• Maintain strict QA/QC and database integrity for all exploration data
• Provide geological inputs into resource estimates aligned with JORC guidelines
• Assist with drill core logging and sampling when required
• Collaborate with Resource Geologists, Technical Services and site teams
• Support tenure management and statutory compliance
• Assist with regional exploration activities (mapping, geochem, geophysics)
• Participate in technical reviews and target-generation workshops
• Mentor junior and graduate geologists to build capability within NQM GOLD 2
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology
• 5+ years’ experience in exploration AND underground mine geology
• Strong gold geology background
• Proven experience leading and managing drilling programs
• Competence in geological modelling software (Leapfrog or Micromine)
• GIS experience (MapInfo/QGIS)
• Strong structural and mineralisation interpretation skills
• Excellent reporting, planning and communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong safety mindset
Desirable:
• Resource geology exposure
• Knowledge of QAQC systems and geochem datasets
• Knowledge of QLD mining law and JORC compliance
• Postgraduate qualifications in gold mineralisation
