We are seeking an experienced and passionate Superintendent – Environment & Community to join our Health, Safety, Environmental, Community & Training (HSECT) team at the Pajingo Gold Mine. Reporting to the HSECT Manager, you’ll play a key role in environmental leadership, regulatory compliance, rehabilitation programs, and stakeholder engagement across our operations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee all environmental functions on site and ensure compliance with statutory obligations (EPA 1994, MQSH Act & Regs).

  • Develop and implement progressive rehabilitation strategies for active operations and legacy sites.

  • Lead and mentor the Environmental team to promote a high-performing, safety-first culture.

  • Engage with landholders, Indigenous groups, community stakeholders, and government agencies.

  • Prepare and manage PRCP plans, ERC calculations, and regulatory reports.

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and environmental projects.

  • Collaborate with operational departments and senior leadership to support long-term strategic planning.

What we’re looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or similar.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior environmental role within the mining/resources sector.

  • Solid knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation and compliance reporting.

  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and project management capability.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, coach, and empower teams.

  • Mine Site Supervisor training (QMS 1,2,3) and current QLD Manual Driver’s Licence.

  • GIS proficiency (e.g. QGIS) and strong Microsoft Office skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental management systems.

  • ICAM investigation training and Advanced First Aid Certificate.
