Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, one underground mine, and two open pit mines. This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth.
About the role:
In line with our future growth, Barto Gold are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and motivated mining industry professional in a key strategic leadership role in the capacity of Commercial Manager.
Based in our West Perth Head Office with occasional site visits as and when required, the successful candidate will be reporting to the site General Manager and be tasked with leading and supporting our mining operations in the evaluation and execution of all mining contracts. You will also ensure a safe professional environment and that all company commercial procedures and requirements are met.
Your superior understanding of contracts and your ability to drive results through effective collaboration and stakeholder influencing will enable your achievement of superior commercial outcomes for our business.
Duties include:
- Create, manage and execute all company contracts
- Provide high level commercial support and financial advice relating to inventory planning, warehousing and purchasing activities
- Ensure efficient and profitable returns are maintained and maximised
- Identify commercial opportunities to achieve full business capacity while reducing costs to our operations
- Lead and support commercial negotiations with company suppliers and external service providers
- Develop and drive innovative and insightful contract strategies that maximise company profitability and cost improvement for projects while mitigating risk
- Continually review all business contractual commitments and provide practical solutions to seemingly complex contractual issues of concern
- Develop a culture of excellence that will motivate and inspire those around you
About you:
The successful candidate will be Tertiary degree qualified with highly developed commercial and financial skills along with substantial Commercial and Contracts related experience relevant to the position and ideally attained within the Australian gold mining industry. Additional details on qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Law or Construction highly desirable
- Extensive experience (10+ years) delivering sourcing initiatives or 5+ years’ experience in Contracts management within major mining projects
- Excellent Commercial, Procurement, Contract Management and supply chain skills.
- Experience in sectors such as infrastructure, mining, or construction preferable
- Demonstrated experience in delivering cost savings and operational improvements.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering inventory, warehousing, and purchasing improvements.
- Use of Bl Tools and SAP ERP will be well regarded
- Minimum of 10 years Contract negotiation and drafting experience
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Motivated, creative and decisive in approach to problem solving
