NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer operating locally in Northern QLD Since 2009. Southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and currently employs around 250 people to run the underground mining and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, offering the charms of regional living with the added bonus of a Capital City close by.

 

We are seeking a passionate, relationship-driven HR Adviser to join our HR team based at our Pajingo Gold Mine in Charters Towers. 

This fast paced and dynamic position servicing 240+ personnel your role will be to deliver a wide range of HR advisor support to all levels of the business allowing you to be a true HR Generalist. This role requires you to be residential at Charters Towers 9-day fortnight (5/2, 4/3 roster) or work in our Townsville Corporate Office (5/2 roster)  with regular site travel to Charters Towers every month. 

 

 

Key deliverables of the role:

  • Undertake HR generalist administration ensuring attention to detail for compliance and governance.

  • Ability to supervise recruitment, administration and site services onsite

  • Collaborate with site leadership to implement workforce strategies aligned with operational goals ensuring good relations are held across site and corporate.

  • Provide timely and accurate HR data, insights, and reports to support informed decision-making.

  • Offer expert advice on industrial and employee relations, ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation, enterprise agreements, and company policies.

  • Manage complex HR cases, including investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions with a strong focus on attention to detail and always maintaining confidentiality.

  • Drive employee engagement and retention through key HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee contract variations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration across the business.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (or minimum Diploma) in HR or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience in a similar HR Advisor role, preferably within mining, construction, or heavy industry.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong expertise in generalist HR functions and practices.

  • In-depth knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations, and enterprise agreements.

  • Experience using HR metrics and analytics to guide business decisions.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while prioritizing conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build professional relationships, influence, and negotiate effectively.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in delivering training, drafting reports, and handling administrative tasks with precision.
