Hygiene Technician role
Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, three active underground mines, three active open pit mines and new mines planned to start in 2026 as part of the companies 5-year plan and a vision to reach 150,000oz/pa by 2028
Reporting to the HST Manager, the Hygiene Technician is responsible for contributing to the capacity of the company to mine safely and lawfully by assisting in meeting legislative obligations through the effective provision of occupational health and hygiene technical services to Barto Gold. You will be required to fulfill occupational hygiene requirements and reporting needs as required by the HST Team. This position will be a permanent role on an 8/6 roster, BIBO from Perth.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Accurately maintain the site Health Management Plan and carrying out Risk Assessments
- Ensure scheduled maintenance and calibration of occupational hygiene equipment is completed in a timely manner
- Conduct occupational noise and ventilation surveys- Desirable
- Provide respiratory and hearing protection fit testing and advice as and when required
- Assist with the development and implementation of the site health monitoring program
- Perform Occupational Hygiene sampling in a timely and consistent manner to Australian standards, site schedules and legislative requirements and ensuring compliance
- Contribute and assist to drive improvement in the overall effectiveness of the Occupational Hygiene on site
About you:
- Hold current Surface Ventilation Officer and Noise Officer qualifications and capabilities- Desirable
- Minimum 1+ year experience
- Hold postgraduate qualifications in Occupational Hygiene - highly regarded
- Computer literate with intermediate MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint skills
- Current WA HR driver's licence
