Barto Gold Mining is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia.

 

The Southern Cross Gold Operations (SXO) is a producing gold asset situated in Western Australia, located 375km east of Perth, Western Australia, 235km west of Kalgoorlie and 32km south of the town of Southern Cross.

 

The Southern Cross operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, two active Underground mines, one active Open Pit with the annual production of 80k oz. The 5-year plan has a production target of over 500,000 ounces.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner develops, implements and maintains maintenance strategies for the maintenance teams in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices/procedures meet statutory, Company OHS&E and Company operational standards within the Maintenance Department.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Follow all reasonable instructions
  • Accurately plan all corrective, preventative and/or shut maintenance to maximise efficient and effective execution of the maintenance team
  • Develop accurate schedules and work packs that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance execution
  • Improve business systems through Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
  • Be considered a leader in Work Management and be able to provide coaching and training effectively
  • Efficient communication with and management of contractors for statutory and frequency-based maintenance.
  • Continuous focus on cost management through accuracy of purchase requisitions and receipting of invoices.
  • Support of end-of-month process through accurate work management and monthly cost review.

About You - Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within the mining industry
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Maintenance Planner role on a mine site
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and SAP
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and continuously improve work management processes in line with industry best practice
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support ongoing improvements in Asset Management systems and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
  • Experience working within a gold processing plant environment (highly regarded)
  • A relevant trade qualification (desirable)
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence
